Recyclable Stand-Up Pouches for Snack Packaging

This stand-up pouch is built from a four-layer laminate: OPP for surface protection, PET for stiffness and print quality, aluminium foil for barrier, and PE as the inner sealing layer. At 140 micron, the film is stiff enough to hold its shape on shelf and stand upright when filled. The aluminium layer blocks oxygen, moisture and light, which slows rancidity in nuts and crisps and keeps biscuits crisp. The structure also protects against aroma loss, so seasonings stay where they belong.

These pouches suit snack filling lines that run at moderate speeds. The flat bottom gusset gives stability during filling and on shelf. Sealing requires consistent heat and pressure to bond the PE layer without wrinkling the foil. A zipper works well for resealable snacks, a tear notch helps opening, and a degassing valve is only needed if you pack roasted coffee or another product that releases gas. A clear window is possible, but it interrupts the foil layer and reduces barrier, so the exposed area must be sized carefully. If recyclability is the priority, a mono-material PE or PP structure is a better choice than this foil laminate, though it will not match the same moisture and oxygen barrier. For long shelf life, the foil structure remains the stronger option.
