Spout pouches are flexible stand-up bags with a fitment welded into the top or corner, made for liquids, semi-liquids and anything poured or squeezed. They carry baby food purees, sauces and condiments, liquid detergent, fabric softener, refill cosmetics, and water. There are three decisions to make: barrier, which depends on whether the fill is oxygen-sensitive, oily or just water-based; closure, meaning a top spout, a corner spout, or a spout with a handle for heavier fills; and size, which follows fill weight and whether the pouch must stand on a shelf or hang. What is the minimum order quantity for spout pouches?
Digital printing starts at 100 pcs for pouches and 10 kg for rollstock film. Rotogravure starts at 10,000 pcs or 200 kg of film. If you are testing a product, digital is usually the lower-risk route; move to rotogravure once the artwork and fill are settled.
Which material should I choose for a liquid fill?
It depends on the fill. Water-based and non-sensitive liquids can run in recyclable PE or PP mono-material. Oily, acidic or oxygen-sensitive products usually need a foil or metallised high-barrier laminate. Compostable and kraft paper options also exist. Tell us the product and we will confirm the structure.
How do I choose between a top spout and a corner spout?
Top spouts suit upright shelf display and pouring. Corner spouts suit squeezing, refill packs and hanging. If the pouch holds a heavier fill, a handle can be added. Send the fill weight and how the pack will be used, and we will recommend the fitment position.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes. Stock samples are free and you cover the courier only. If you need a printed sample in your own artwork, that runs as a digital order. Lead time is 10-15 working days for digital printing and 20-25 working days for rotogravure, counted from artwork approval.
