Tea packaging covers several formats, from flat pouches for tea bags to flat bottom bags for loose leaf. You are packing dry leaf, tea bags or powder mixes, so the main decisions are barrier, closure, size and material. Barrier matters most for aroma and moisture: foil and metallised laminates block both, while mono-material PE or PP is recyclable and compostable films are available. Closure is usually a zipper, a valve or a simple seal. Size follows fill weight and whether the bag sits on a shelf or stands in a box. What is the minimum order quantity for tea packaging?
Digital printing starts at 100 pcs for pouches and bags, or 10 kg for rollstock film. Rotogravure starts at 10,000 pcs or 200 kg of film. If you are testing a new blend, digital is usually the lower-risk route until volumes justify plates.
How long does production take?
Digital printing runs 10-15 working days and rotogravure 20-25 working days, both counted from artwork approval. Add shipping time by air or sea. If you have a launch date, send it with your enquiry and we will confirm what is realistic.
Which material should I choose for tea?
For loose leaf or tea bags where aroma and moisture are critical, foil or metallised high-barrier laminates are often the better choice. For a recyclable mono-material option, PE or PP works. Compostable films and kraft paper are also available. Tell us your product and shelf life and we will advise.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes. Stock samples are free and you cover the courier only. If you need a printed sample with your artwork, that follows the normal digital printing lead time. Send your artwork file and we will confirm the format and material first.
