This is a stand-up pouch built for sauces and condiments. The factory specification is a 140-micron laminate: an outer OPP layer for gloss and scuff resistance, a PET layer for stiffness, an aluminium foil core for light, oxygen and moisture barrier, and an inner PE sealing layer that is compatible with liquid fillers. The foil core is what keeps oil-based sauces from oxidising and stops light from degrading colours and flavours. The base gusset lets the pouch stand on shelf without a carton.
It suits tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, mayonnaise, dressings, marinades and stir-fry bases. On a piston or servo filler, the pouch is filled through the top opening and sealed across the top; the stand-up base needs a brief settling step before case packing so the seal area stays clean. A spout and cap work well for squeeze dispensing, while a tear notch or zipper suits single-serve and resealable formats. A window is possible but the aluminium layer blocks see-through, so a clear patch would need a separate structure. If recyclability is the priority, a mono-PE or mono-PP laminate can replace the foil, but expect a shorter shelf life for oily or light-sensitive sauces.

The stand-up format is compatible with most piston and servo fillers that handle pre-made pouches. The 140-micron laminate is stiff enough to hold its shape during filling, but you may need to adjust the base opening and settling time to keep the top seal area clean.
What is the minimum order quantity for a custom-printed sauce pouch?
With digital printing, MOQ starts at 100 pouches. For rotogravure printing, which gives lower unit costs at volume, MOQ is 10,000 pouches. Lead time is 10-15 working days for digital after artwork approval, or 20-25 working days for rotogravure.
Does the aluminium layer affect recyclability or shelf life?
The aluminium foil core gives an excellent barrier against light, oxygen and moisture, which extends shelf life for oily sauces. However, it makes the pouch non-recyclable in most streams. If recyclability is required, a mono-PE or mono-PP structure is available, but it offers a lower barrier and may shorten shelf life for sensitive products.
