This easy-peel lidding film is a rollstock solution designed for sealing trays and cups. It is built from a peelable sealant layer combined with a barrier core. Typical structures include PET/AL/PE for high barrier or mono-material PE and PP recyclable options. Thickness ranges from 30 to 100 microns, depending on the barrier and peel strength required. The film protects contents from moisture, oxygen, and light, and opens cleanly without tearing.
It is used on thermoform-fill-seal and tray-sealing lines for ready meals, dairy, and snacks. The film runs on standard filling equipment and seals at temperatures between 120°C and 160°C. Peel strength can be tuned from easy-open to weld-seal. For recyclability, mono-PE structures are a good fit, but they offer a shorter shelf life than foil laminates. If maximum barrier is needed, PET/AL/PE remains the better choice. Options include high-barrier and retort-grade versions.
