Custom Printed Rollstock Film for Food Packaging

This is rollstock film, supplied on cores for form-fill-seal and flow-wrap lines rather than as pre-made bags. The standard build is M.OPP/MPET/PE: metallised OPP on the outside for print and stiffness, metallised PET as the barrier core, and a PE sealing layer on the inside. The MPET layer does the heavy lifting against oxygen and moisture; the PE layer is what actually seals. Thickness is set to the job, since the film has to run at the line speed and seal strength the filling equipment needs. Roll length is 50–300 m, and width, sealant layer and print repeat are all made to order.

Typical uses are dry goods filled on vertical or horizontal form-fill-seal machines: ground coffee, nuts, dried fruit, biscuits, pet treats, tea and powdered mixes. The film is printed, slit and wound to your repeat, so the artwork has to be finalised before the print run starts. A one-way degassing valve can be added for roasted coffee, and a tear notch or easy-peel seal helps the consumer open the pack. A zipper is possible on some formats but adds cost and slows the line. Choose a mono-material PE or PP recyclable structure when the pack is a simple dry food and the store's recycling stream accepts it; choose the foil or metallised laminate when the product is oxygen-sensitive and shelf life matters more than recyclability. Compostable PLA/PBS options exist but run slower and seal in a narrower window.
