The aluminium layer blocks light, oxygen and moisture, so the contents stay protected from humidity and odour pickup. The matte outer film takes print well and gives a soft, non-reflective finish. Thickness and material mix can be adjusted, but 140 micron is a common starting point for a pouch that needs to hold its shape and resist puncturing.
The format suits face masks, tea, snacks and coffee, and it runs on standard vertical or horizontal form-fill-seal lines. Flat pouches seal on three sides; filling is usually from the top before the final seam. A zipper makes sense for resealable tea or snack packs, while a tear notch helps low-cost single-use mask packs. A window is possible but adds cost and breaks the aluminium barrier.
