This is a flat bottom bag with side gussets, built from a three-ply laminate of PET, aluminium foil and PE at 140 micron. The foil layer blocks moisture vapour, oxygen and light, which protects flour from caking, rancidity and insect ingress during storage and transit. The flat base lets the filled bag stand unaided on a shelf or pallet; the side gussets expand the volume so the pack holds its shape as it fills. Thickness is customisable if a lighter or heavier gauge suits your line.
Flour is usually filled by auger or vertical form-fill-seal, then the top is heat sealed. The flat bottom and gussets need a clean seal area, so keep product out of the seal zone. A zipper or tin tie suits smaller retail packs; a window is possible but the foil layer is what carries the barrier, so a window reduces shelf life. A one-way valve is not needed here. For dry, short-life flour, a recyclable mono-PE structure can replace the foil laminate; for long shelf life or humid climates, the foil laminate is the safer choice.
