This is a stand-up pouch built from a kraft paper laminate with a clear rectangular window. The typical structure is kraft paper / PET / PE or kraft paper / AL / PE, with a total thickness around 120–150 microns. The paper outer layer gives a matte, natural look and some light blocking. The inner PE layer provides the seal and keeps moisture out. The window is a clear film patch that lets buyers see the product without opening the pack. It protects chips from crushing, stale air and light.
Use this pouch for tortilla chips, corn chips, plantain chips and similar dry snacks. Fill by hand or on a vertical form-fill-seal line, then heat-seal the top. A zipper is possible but adds cost and is not common for chips. A one-way degassing valve is not needed for chips. A hang hole or tear notch can be added. If you need full light and oxygen barrier, a foil laminate (PET/AL/PE) outperforms kraft paper. For a recyclable mono-PE structure, barrier is lower and shelf life shorter, but it meets recyclability goals.

Does the window affect the barrier and shelf life of tortilla chips?
The window is a clear film patch that replaces part of the kraft paper layer. It does not provide an oxygen or moisture barrier by itself, so the inner PE or AL layer does the real protection. For chips, a kraft/PET/PE structure with window gives around 6–9 months shelf life if sealed well. If you need 12 months or more, choose a full foil laminate without a window.
Can I run this kraft window pouch on my existing vertical form-fill-seal machine?
Yes, if the pouch is supplied as rollstock or as pre-made pouches for a fill-seal machine. The kraft paper laminate has a heat-seal layer on the inside, so sealing follows standard PE settings. However, the paper outer layer can scuff on metal forming tubes, so test a small roll first. Digital print runs start at 10 kg for film and 100 pcs for pouches; gravure runs start at 200 kg and 10,000 pcs.
Is a zipper or valve available on this kraft window pouch?
A zipper can be added, but it raises unit cost and is usually unnecessary for tortilla chips sold as single-serve or family bags. A one-way degassing valve is not recommended because chips do not release gas. If you need resealability, consider a stand-up pouch with zipper in a foil laminate instead. Lead time for digital print is 10–15 working days after artwork approval; gravure is 20–25 working days.
