This is a recyclable flexible pouch built from a single polymer family, either polyethylene or polypropylene. The mono-material construction means the whole pack can go into a PE or PP recycling stream, unlike mixed laminates such as PET/AL/PE. Depending on the format, the bag is a stand-up pouch, flat-bottom bag, three-side-seal pouch or organ bag. Wall thickness is typically 80 to 150 microns, enough for stiffness and puncture resistance on filling lines. The film protects against moisture and oxygen pickup, but the barrier is lower than a foil laminate. For coffee or oxygen-sensitive snacks, a mono-PE structure will not match PET/AL/PE. For dry goods with a shorter shelf life, it is a workable recyclable option.
These pouches suit coffee, tea, pet food and snacks. Filling is usually by auger, volumetric cup or multihead weigher, followed by heat sealing on the top seam. The seal window is narrower than with PE/AL laminates, so filling lines need temperature and pressure checked before a full run. A degassing valve makes sense on coffee, while a zipper, tear notch, window or spout can be added. A spout is common on larger pet food or liquid formats. Choose mono-PE when recyclability is the priority and the product tolerates moderate barrier. Choose a foil laminate when the shelf life or oxygen sensitivity demands it.

Can this mono-PE pouch replace my current PET/AL/PE coffee bag?
Only if your coffee turns over quickly and you can accept a shorter shelf life. Mono-PE gives a moderate moisture and oxygen barrier, not the near-total block of a foil laminate. For roasted coffee beyond six to eight weeks, a foil structure is still the safer choice.
What is the minimum order quantity for a custom-printed recyclable pouch?
With digital printing, orders start at 100 pouches. Rotogravure printing starts at 10,000 pouches. Digital runs ship in 10-15 working days after artwork approval, while rotogravure takes 20-25 working days. The printing method affects both cost and lead time.
Will a degassing valve work on a mono-material pouch?
Yes, one-way valves can be fitted to mono-PE and mono-PP pouches. The valve lets CO2 escape from roasted coffee without letting oxygen in. Check that your filling line can seal around the valve area without wrinkling the film.
