High Barrier Frozen Bag For Food Packaging

Flat bottom, side gusset and stand up pouches in 140 micron PET/PE, giving a moisture and puncture barrier for frozen vegetables, ready meals and meat.

This frozen food bag is built from a 140 micron PET/PE laminate. The PET outer layer holds print and resists scuffing; the PE inner layer seals through frost and gives a moisture barrier. The thickness keeps the pack rigid at -18°C and protects against freezer burn during storage and transport. It is available as a flat bottom bag, side gusset bag or stand up pouch.

Filling lines for frozen product usually run at low temperatures, so the seal window matters. PE seals at lower temperatures than foil laminates, which helps when the product is cold. A zipper or slider works on stand up pouches for resealable frozen fruit or vegetables. A window is possible but adds cost and reduces barrier area; use it only if product visibility drives the sale. A one-way valve is not typical here because frozen foods do not degas. For recyclable mono-PE structures, expect a lower oxygen barrier than PET/AL/PE; choose mono-PE when the frozen product is not oxygen-sensitive, and keep foil laminates for longer shelf life.

Frequently asked

Is 140 micron thick enough for frozen food?
Yes for most frozen applications. The 140 micron PET/PE gives stiffness at -18°C and resists punctures from sharp edges. If you pack bone-in meat or IQF products with hard corners, ask for a thicker structure.
Can I get this bag in a recyclable mono-material?
Yes. Mono-PE recyclable structures are available, but they have a higher moisture and oxygen transmission rate than PET/PE or foil laminates. Use mono-PE for short shelf life frozen items; choose foil if you need a longer barrier.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
Digital printing starts at 100 pouches or 10 kg film, with 10-15 working days after artwork approval. Rotogravure runs start at 10,000 pouches or 200 kg film and take 20-25 working days.
