Kraft paper coffee bag with a one-way degassing valve, built from a kraft paper laminate with an aluminium or metallised barrier layer to protect roasted beans from oxygen and moisture.
This is a flat bottom or stand up pouch made from a kraft paper laminate. The paper faces outward; behind it sits a barrier layer, typically aluminium foil or metallised PET, bonded to an inner PE or PLA sealant film. Total thickness is usually 120–150 microns, depending on the barrier and sealant chosen. The construction blocks oxygen, moisture and light, which is what stale coffee. The one-way degassing valve vents carbon dioxide released by freshly roasted beans while keeping outside air from entering.
Roasters use this format for whole bean and ground coffee from 250 g to 1 kg. It also suits tea, snacks and dry pet food. On a vertical form-fill-seal line, the bag runs at moderate speeds; the valve is fitted during pouch making, not on the filling line. A zipper or tin tie adds reclosability, and a window lets buyers see the product. Choose a mono-material PE or PP recyclable structure when the brand prioritises recyclability and the shelf life is short. For long shelf life or high oil content, a foil laminate still gives better oxygen and light barrier than mono-PE.

Yes, a one-way valve can be fitted to a mono-PE or mono-PP laminate, but the valve itself is usually a small plastic component that may not be recyclable in the same stream. Check your local recycling guidelines. If full recyclability is critical, consider a valve-free pack and rely on a shorter shelf life or one-way valve alternatives.

The bag is designed for standard vertical form-fill-seal or pre-made pouch filling lines.
